From the first camping tour to the first combination tour, to the exciting itineraries in this summer’s brochure, American Trails West has led the way. We know you will be as excited as we are with our tours around the United States, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Europe. Choosing the appropriate tour is an important family decision. ATW Teen Tours Staff
The best supervision by the most caring staff. Each American Trails West tour is personally supervised by one of our experienced Directors who returns to ATW Teen Tours for another summer of leadership. These Directors and their specially selected staff of mature adults offer youthful participation in all facets of our program. Everybody takes part in ongoing training sessions at our office over the winter months. In the spring, these culminate in our orientation program of workshops, seminars, and hands-on training. All ATW staff are CPR and First Aid Certified.
Our staff combines many summers of ATW Teen Tours experience with the unique ability to understand and relate to their travelers. This combination guarantees each tour the finest in responsible supervision. We are very proud of the large number of past ATW Teen Tours travelers who return as staff members each year.

Here at American Trails West, we bring many years of experience in working with young people and an expertise in the field of travel, to every aspect of our program. Since 1965, we have been offering the finest quality student summer adventures. Student travel is a specialized field, and we devote our full time efforts year round solely to the preparation of our summer program.
In the fall of each year, we scout new areas in order to incorporate the latest exciting Special Attractions, Evening Entertainment, and Scenicland highlights into our program. Even before the first snowfall, we personally make all the arrangements for the upcoming summer tours. During the winter, we meet with prospective travelers to help in their choice of the tour that is best for them. Our office is constantly busy in the spring, as staff meetings are in progress, final confirmations are sent out, and preparations are made for tour departures. During the summer, the Directors will be traveling the American Trails West routes to give that special attention to each traveler.
Our best credentials are the high praise and enthusiastic recommendations of the thousands of our past travelers and their parents. Our past experience as teachers, administrators, and camp directors makes us keenly aware of our responsibility, and uniquely qualified to satisfy the varied needs and interests of our travelers. Since 1965, thousands of boys and girls chose to travel with us, many returning for a second or third summer of fun and adventure.
